Job Description:

Overview: BEST is seeking qualified Independent Technicians to support the maintenance and expansion of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and renewable power assets. We provide the projects, and you provide the technical expertise as an independent contractor.

This is a 1099 contractor job. You bring the expertise and the tools; we provide the projects. If you are ready to travel, troubleshoot, and bill for your skills on your own terms, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Installation & Commissioning: Perform installation support, commissioning, and component replacements for BESS units and inverters.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Independently diagnose electrical and mechanical issues. Perform corrective maintenance on-site without direct supervision.
• Documentation: Submit accurate service logs, data reports, and photos to validate work performed and billable hours.
• Safety Compliance: Conduct hazard assessments and strictly adhere to OSHA and NFPA 70E standards at all times.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1-3+ years of experience in electrical, solar, construction, or industrial environments.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading schematics and performing mechanical/electrical labor independently.
• Travel: Ability to travel extensively (70%–100%) within the region.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in various field conditions.
• Tools & Gear: Must own standard hand tools (steel-toed boots, voltage testers, etc.). Specialized diagnostic gear will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or relevant electrical certifications.
• Experience operating Forklifts or Skid Steers.
• Military Veterans and skilled tradespeople are encouraged to apply.

• On the road (Regional travel required)

Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
