Overview

The Maintenance Man is one of Northeast Ohio's top-rated handyman and home repair services. We are a BBB Accredited, licensed, bonded, and insured operation serving homeowners, realtors, landlords, and property managers across the Cleveland metro area.

We are looking for a reliable, professional, and skilled independent handyman contractor to handle residential service calls across our growing service area. This is not a traditional employee position. You set your own schedule, work per job, and represent The Maintenance Man brand while building your own experience and income.

If you take pride in your work, show up on time, communicate clearly with clients, and want consistent job flow without having to find your own customers, this opportunity is for you.

What You'll Do

• Complete residential handyman service calls assigned by The Maintenance Man
• Perform small to medium home repair and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
• Curtain and blind installation
• TV and monitor mounting
• Smart doorbell and security camera installation (Ring, Wyze, Nest)
• Minor caulking and sealing around toilets, tubs, and sinks
• Furniture assembly
• Basic carpentry and trim work
• Weather stripping and door hardware replacement
• Touch up painting and patching
• Shelf and fixture installation
• Minor plumbing repairs including faucet replacement, toilet seat replacement, and supply line connections
• Communicate professionally with clients before, during, and after each job
• Represent The Maintenance Man brand with professionalism and integrity at every visit
• Document completed work with before and after photos for quality assurance
• Collect client signatures and payment confirmation upon job completion
• Report any additional repair needs observed on site back to employer for follow-up

What You Will NOT Be Asked To Do

• Licensed electrical work, including panel work, new circuit installation, and rewiring
• Licensed plumbing, including main line work, water heater installation, and gas lines
• Roofing, structural, or major renovation work
• Any work outside your skill set or comfort level

Compensation

• Paid per job, no hourly rate
• Consistent job flow provided. You focus on the work, we handle the customers
• Payment issued weekly via Zelle, Cash App, or check

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of handyman or general maintenance experience
• Must carry your own general liability insurance, proof required before first job
• Must have reliable transportation and basic tool set
• Smartphone required for job scheduling, client communication, and photo documentation
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be punctual and reliable. Our reputation depends on it

Preferred But Not Required

• Experience with smart home device installation
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and minor electrical repairs
• Prior experience working with realtors or property managers
• Familiarity with the Northeast Ohio service area
