Independent Insurance Agent

Job Summary
Join our growing team as an Independent Insurance Agent focused on the commercial space. This is a strong opportunity for someone with insurance sales experience who wants more control, more upside, and the ability to build their own book of business.

You’ll be working directly with business owners, helping them find the right coverage, and closing deals that make sense. We’re looking for someone who knows how to move in sales, communicate clearly, and get things done. Bilingual is a big plus, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and close new commercial insurance clients (business owners, contractors, etc.)
  • Build and manage your own book of business
  • Conduct needs analysis and recommend the right coverage for each client
  • Explain policies in a clear, straightforward way clients understand
  • Negotiate terms and pricing to close deals
  • Handle sales admin (applications, documentation, submissions, renewals)
  • Network in the community and generate new opportunities
  • Maintain strong client relationships for retention and referrals
  • Stay compliant with industry regulations and company standards

Experience

  • Proven experience in insurance sales (commercial preferred) or strong outside sales background
  • Ability to confidently sell, negotiate, and close
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred, not required)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trust quickly
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Organized and able to manage a pipeline effectively
  • Familiarity with sales processes, marketing, and client management
  • Experience with compliance (HIPAA or similar) is a plus, but not required

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
