Independently Licensed Clinic-Based Mental Health Therapist

Responsibilities:

· Completes Diagnostic Assessments using trauma-responsive, culturally responsive, and age-appropriate assessment tools, resulting in clinical diagnosis.

· Develops individualized treatment plans which define plan of services and intervention; updates treatment plans according to regulatory requirements; and as appropriate provides optimum client care.

· Independently provides individual, couple and family, and/or group therapy as needed to address patient treatment needs; provides crisis intervention services as appropriate.

· Works well with community partners and invested in collaborative care with other providers in clients’ lives.

· Completes documentation and billing in a timely manner in accordance with NYFS guidelines and all relevant HIPAA and DHS guidelines.

· Provides culturally responsive, trauma-responsive, community-based, and developmentally appropriate care.

· Actively contributes to weekly case consultation, staff meetings, and agency and community events as assigned.

· Abides by all professional ethical standards.

Required Qualifications:

· Independently licensed in Social Work, Psychology, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Speaks Spanish, Hmong, Karen, or Somali

· Training and experience in the treatment of individuals who have experienced trauma.

· Art therapy, Play Therapy, Couples/Family Therapy, or Group Therapy training or interest.

· Clinical Supervision experience or interest; enthusiasm about training interns.

Strong candidates will have a solid understanding of their own culture and practice sensitivity and respect to the cultural backgrounds of clients as well as other staff. NYFS welcomes clients as well as staff with diverse cultural/ethnic identities, sexual orientations, gender identities, disabilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Salary Range: $69,000 - $71,100 per year based on education, training and/or experience.

· $1,000 stipend to seek out training with 5 CEU days and licensure fee reimbursement.

· Flexible schedule collaboratively determined with your supervisor. Staff may work from home on Fridays.

· The final week of the year NYFS closes services to ensure all staff have a paid collective week off to support work sustainability.

· Weekly supervision is provided for all staff working toward licensure. Biweekly supervision offered for all staff regardless of licensure to support staff wellness and quality client care.

· Many training opportunities including specific trauma modalities (TF-CBT, NET, CCPT) and cultural responsiveness trainings quarterly.

· In-depth reflective weekly clinical consultation as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

NYFS provides trauma and culturally responsive clinic-based, and school based mental health services, domestic and sexual violence services, and community-based services including diversion programming, youth development programming, and community advocacy with offices in Shoreview and White Bear Lake. We have long-standing partnerships with 15 municipalities in Ramsey County; NYFS’ services are genuinely community-driven.
