Overview

The role will focus on the Transportation Sourcing category and will be a member of team supporting Sourcing, Contracting and Supplier Management of services in the following categories: 3PL, Truckload, Final Mile, Small Parcel, Dedicated Fleet, Ocean Freight, Drayage and LTL.

The Sourcing Manager will remain current on Category Market trends, Supplier Economics, and Procurement best practices. Working with the Business Units and Suppliers, the Sourcing Manager will support a Strategic Procurement process that will substantially reduce total costs.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Support relative to the design, implement and execute the organization’s strategic sourcing initiatives, including supply market analysis, management of requests for proposal, and supplier negotiations
  • Support Contract administration process including contract workspace creation, drafting and maintaining document control practices between all stakeholders, including ODP Legal.
  • Network across VEYER to build strong relationships with stakeholders and develop sourcing strategies which support their business.
  • Know your category and market. Be a resource to stakeholders to make better decisions.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring they meet quality and service requirements while maintaining competitive prices
  • Manage supplier selection processes using market analysis, concise request for proposals (RFPs), eAuctions and a data driven approach.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in business administration or related field required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement,
  • Experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain industries preferred
  • CPSM (Certified Professional Supply Chain Manager) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines and deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Capable of working with and managing cross functional teams to ensure all project deliverables and timelines are met
  • Ability to work within a matrixed environment
  • Professional level spoken and written English and demonstrated ability to read and understand legal documents in English
  • Computer literacy and a basic understanding and knowledge of computer based analytical and communication tools (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Experience in supplier sourcing and eAuctions
  • Contract Management Tools (Ariba, Oracle Contracts)
  • Spend Analytics
  • Quick learner with interest in understanding and applying supplier best practices.
  • Strong influencing skills and change management experience with the ability to successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making techniques and a strong understanding of contracting and negotiating
  • Innovative, self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision along with strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule: The salary range for this role is $75,500/year to $117,950/year, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
