Pace GFX is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Industrial Designer with 2-3 years of fabrication experience to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as a liaison between our design and fabrication departments, ensuring that creative concepts translate cleanly and accurately into build-ready documentation. You will convert design proofs into precise fabrication drawings, troubleshoot production details, and help maintain clear communication across teams to ensure projects move smoothly from ideation to installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate design concepts, proofs, and sketches into clear, accurate fabrication drawings
- Prepare detailed working drawings of products, parts, machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods and other engineering information
- Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure feasibility, precision, and manufacturability
- Communicate design intent and technical details across teams to streamline production
- Conduct material, hardware, and process research to support quality and fabrication efficiency
- Develop technical documentation for internal and client-facing use
- Review prototypes and assemblies, supporting iterative refinement as needed
- Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-driven culture between design and fabrication teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in industrial design with direct fabrication exposure
- Proficiency in CAD, 3D and visualization/rendering tools is a plus
- Strong technical drawing and detailing skills, especially for custom, one-off fabrication
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, CNC, millwork, plastics, welding, finishing, etc.)
- Ability to communicate clearly—visually and verbally—across creative and technical disciplines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- A portfolio demonstrating projects carried from concept through production prep
Preferred Skills
- Experience in architectural, retail, or custom fabrication environments
- Knowledge of sustainable material choices and fabrication practices
- Familiarity with design thinking and user-centered design methods
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
If you enjoy bridging the gap between design intent and real-world fabrication—and thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment—we’d love to hear from you.
