Industrial Designer - Junior

The Jr. Industrial Designer Assistant supports the design, sampling, and production of digitally printed edgebanding. This role includes preparing samples, assisting with color matching, organizing materials, and supporting file preparation and production setup.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, the position helps coordinate schedules, manage work orders, and ensure product quality from development through final production.

  • Support in the conceptualization, design, and development of graphic art for digital printing of edgebanding on PVC substrates.
  • Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics.
  • Present designs and reports to customers or design committees within FTL for approval or modification.
  • Confer with engineering, marketing, production, or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts for FTL's edgebanding products.
  • Use Adobe Photoshop and ripping software to prepare files for the digital printing process.
  • Conduct proofing sessions to ensure designs are ready for print, adjusting color, size, and design as necessary.
  • Modify and refine designs, using working models, to confirm with customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and adjusting to shifting priorities.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end sample process, organizing and labeling design libraries, create alternative designs, and inspecting finished products to ensure accuracy in labeling, sizing, and proper storage.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
