Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Industrial Designer to join our team. In this role you will need technical skills and strong problem-solving abilities to refine designs and ensure they meet user and market demands. Your contributions will be pivotal in driving the design vision for our customers

Responsibilities Include (But are not limited to):

• Conduct site visits with customers to determine customer needs
• Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required
• Blueprint Reading
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Design custom metal components and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and machinists to bring designs to life
• Interpret customer specs and translate them into detailed CAD drawings
• Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency
• Support production with technical drawings and revisions
• Transform an initial product concept or work off customer drawings to create 3D models.
• Create industrial or architectural manufacturing working drawings from 3D models which include dimensions, isometric, and exploded views along with information required to manufacture
• Detailing to Comply with all applicable codes and contract specifications
• Create Approval, Fabrication, Erection drawings and Bill of Materials for misc. metal projects
• Modifies existing designs based on Project Manager requirements
• Work within engineering team to prepare jobs for shop release
• Source material quotes from vendors
• Work closely with Fabrication to interpret/resolve layout and/or detail issues
• Construction Documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required -

• 10 + years of working experience
• Must be familiar with manufacturing processes related to machining, sheet metal, and welding
• Needs to be proficient in designing parts, weldments, and sheet metal parts in SolidWorks
• A portfolio of past projects
• Read and interpret structural drawings and specifications

Preferred -

• Strong attention to detail, and organizational skills, working in a fast-paced environment and can meet deadlines
• Have strong basic computer skills and a competent level of experience in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to convert multiple design platforms into SolidWorks programs
• Familiarity with JobBoss or similar manufacturing software
• Be able to manage multiple tasks and work well in a team environment
• Good verbal and written communication skills and must have strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
