About Native Sons Ltd.
Native Sons Ltd. was originally established to support major Tribal Nation construction initiatives, including the landmark Mohegan Sun Casino. Since then, Native Sons has expanded operations to include heavy-industry projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.
With over 75 years of combined management experience, Native Sons delivers projects ranging from industrial plants to multi-year, multimillion-dollar installations—including nuclear, water/wastewater, manufacturing, utilities, and major commercial facilities.
We hold minority certifications across several states and municipalities and maintain strong affiliations with NECA, NFPA, AGC, the Electric League of Maryland, and the National Electrical Testing Association.
Position Overview
Native Sons Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician with strong experience in manufacturing, water and wastewater facilities, hazardous locations, and heavy industrial installations. This is a hands-on field role that requires proficiency in rigid conduit systems, motor controls, process control wiring, and industrial electrical troubleshooting.
This position is ideal for experienced electricians who excel in complex environments, understand the demands of industrial infrastructure, and take pride in delivering high-quality, code-compliant installations.
What You’ll Do
Industrial Electrical Installation & Integration
- Install and integrate electrical systems for manufacturing facilities, water/wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and process environments.
- Perform all aspects of hazardous location electrical installation in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable industrial classifications.
- Install heavy-duty rigid conduit systems (rigid and IMC) for all raceway pathways—bends, offsets, saddles, and precision layout required.
- Install electrical feeders, branch circuits, MCC feeders, and panelboards in industrial settings.
Motor Controls & Process Systems
- Install, wire, and troubleshoot motor controls, VFDs, starters, soft-start systems, and associated control wiring.
- Install and maintain process control systems, instrumentation wiring, flow/level sensors, pressure devices, and automation components.
- Work closely with control technicians and integrators during commissioning and testing.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures, control logic issues, and industrial power distribution problems.
Equipment & Mechanical Integration
- Install wiring for industrial machinery including pumps, blowers, aeration equipment, mixers, conveyors, compressors, and mechanical process systems.
- Support electrical installation of SCADA-related components where required.
- Install industrial lighting, explosion-proof fixtures, heat trace, and specialty systems.
Testing, Safety & Compliance
- Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and performance testing on wiring systems.
- Work safely within industrial environments including confined spaces, elevated work areas, energized systems, and active plant operations.
- Follow lockout/tagout, arc-flash, confined space, and hazardous area safety procedures.
What You Bring
Required Experience
- Journeyman-level Industrial Electrician experience (Local 24 classification or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience with rigid conduit installation (no EMT).
- Industrial project background including manufacturing, water/wastewater, hazardous locations, and/or process facilities.
- Strong working knowledge of motor controls, control circuits, industrial wiring, and process control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control diagrams, industrial schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to work independently and safely in demanding industrial environments.

- Methodical Attention to Detail
- Time Management & Productivity
- Strong Communication & Team Collaboration
- Mechanical & Electrical Troubleshooting
Work Environment
- Industrial plants, treatment facilities, manufacturing sites, pump stations, and heavy industrial construction sites.
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, chemicals, water/wastewater processes, heights, confined spaces, and weather.
- Work requires standing, climbing, bending, lifting 50 lbs., and performing tasks in physically demanding environments.
- May involve working around active industrial operations and equipment.
Position Type & Expected Hours
- Full-time, union position under IBEW Local 24.
- Overtime may be required based on project schedules, shutdowns, or commissioning needs.
Travel
- Projects are primarily based in Baltimore City, with potential travel to regional project sites.
Physical Requirements: Industrial electricians must be able to work on their feet for extended periods, navigate active jobsites (including ladders, scaffolds, confined spaces, and elevated areas), and lift or carry 50–75 pounds regularly. The role requires frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, and use of hand and power tools with repetitive motions and fine motor precision. Workers must distinguish wire colors, read prints and equipment labels, hear alarms in noisy environments, and maintain situational awareness around energized systems and heavy machinery. They must tolerate varying weather and industrial conditions—heat, cold, noise, dust, and PPE requirements—while safely following procedures such as lockout/tagout and arc-flash protection.
