Industrial Electrician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in motors, control panels, switchgear, transformers, and PLC systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Install and configure conduit systems (EMT, rigid, PVC), wiring, panels, and electrical devices.
• Test electrical systems for continuity, voltage, and functional integrity using appropriate testing instruments.
• Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other electricians to meet project deadlines.
• Complete job documentation, service reports, and material usage records accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow company and job-site safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Industrial or Construction Electrician.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.
• Experience with conduit bending, panel installation, and equipment wiring.
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and automated systems (preferred but not required).
• Proficiency with multimeters, meggers, and other diagnostic tools.
• Strong understanding of NEC and local electrical codes.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in industrial environments (heights, confined spaces, etc.).
• State or local electrical license (preferred based on jurisdiction).

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program (preferred)
