Position Summary

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, services, repairing, instlling, and removing electrical equipment. This will include but will not be limited to: solenoids, motor starters, facility lighting, control system instrumentation, position/motion/plug sensor devices, limit switches, PLC equipment, power supplies, conduit installation, wiring connections, and motors.

Job Responsibilities

Some examples of job duties include:

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage wiring in industrial settings.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
• Program and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize automation processes.
• Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
• Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards during all installation and repair activities.
• Conduct routine maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery to prevent downtime.

Skills

• 5+ years of experience working as an industrial electrician
• Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams for complex electrical setups.
• Hands-on experience with 480v systems
• Experience with installation of conduit systems
• Understanding of NFPA 70E
• Basic PLC and VFD drive knowledge are an asset
• Ability to work independently in a responsible manner and document progress on work orders

Hours of Work

Shift hours for this position will be Sunday-Thursday 10pm to 6am (3rd shift)

Physical Demands

Some examples of the physical demands of this job include but are not limited to the following:

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Manual dexterity and frequent use of both hands

Pay

Our employees are represented by United Steel Workers Local 277 with guaranteed wage increases under a collective bargaining agreement

Starting Wage for this position is $36.50/hr plus a $.65/hr. shift differential

Guaranteed wage increase to $37.68/hr. after 135 days worked and $38.84/hr. after 270 days worked with annual contractual increases.
