Industrial Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer with Paint Shop expertise to support operations at our Appleton facility. The candidate will focus on process optimization, efficiency improvements, and quality enhancements within the paint shop, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, analyze, and improve paint shop processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within paint operations.
• Design and optimize paint line layouts, workflows, and material handling systems.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and identify process bottlenecks.
• Support new product launches by defining paint shop requirements and validating equipment capability.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve process-related issues.
• Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations within the paint shop.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Work with suppliers and vendors to maintain equipment reliability and process consistency.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, with a strong background in paint shop or surface finishing operations .
• Solid understanding of paint shop processes (pretreatment, e-coat, primer, topcoat).
• Proficiency with Lean Manufacturing tools (Kaizen, Six Sigma, PFMEA, APQP).
• CAD software experience (AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar) for layout design.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with robotic paint systems or automated spray equipment.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to paint/coating operations.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
