About the Role
Cyient is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support Pratt & Whitney programs in Columbus, GA. This role combines industrial engineering fundamentals with lean manufacturing and process improvement, playing a critical role in optimizing manufacturing operations.
The Industrial Engineer will analyze, design, and improve production processes to drive efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance, while ensuring all hardware, processes, and documentation comply with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working on the production floor, and capable of resolving complex technical issues while maintaining strong cross-functional and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
- Design, analyze, and optimize production layouts, workflows, equipment utilization, and space requirements.
- Conduct time studies, motion studies, and labor analyses to identify improvement opportunities and cost reductions.
- Perform production line capacity and throughput assessments to support operational and business needs.
- Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to implement process improvements.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Maintain, review, and update manufacturing and process data within SAP and related systems.
- Support compliance with aerospace quality standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial engineering experience, preferably within aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with process optimization, capacity planning, and manufacturing analytics.
Tools & Systems
- Proficiency with CAD and engineering design tools.
- Experience working with ERP and MES systems (SAP preferred).
Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and process discipline.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Compliance
- U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.
