Industrial Equipment Builder (Wiring + Piping) - Engineering Tech

We are hiring for a hands-on shop role in our assembly area helping build complete machines. This role is broader than wiring. It includes mechanical assembly, piping, fabricated components, sheet metal, testing, and some electrical work.

We are looking for someone who is good with tools, mechanically sharp, willing to learn, and takes pride in doing solid work.

<Job Overview>
Buxton USA is hiring for a hands-on shop role focused on building complete industrial machines in our assembly area. This position supports the assembly of washers and sterilizers and includes mechanical assembly, piping, fabricated components, sheet metal, testing, verification, and some electrical wiring.

This is not a narrow one-task assembly job. We are looking for someone with basic mechanical skills, good tool sense, and a willingness to learn. The right person does not need to come in knowing everything. We are willing to train someone who is dependable, pays attention, and takes pride in doing solid work.

This role may also require travel for equipment installations from time to time.

<Duties>

• Wire motors, controls, contactors, and related components
• Perform electromechanical assembly
• Assemble fabricated components and sheet metal
• Install pumps, valves, fittings, and mechanical components
• Perform basic piping and plumbing on washers and sterilizers
• Support machine testing, startup, and flow checks
• Test and verify work at each step to avoid rework
• Read wiring schematics, assembly drawings, and build documents
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Travel as needed for equipment installations
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols at all times.

<Requirements>

• Basic mechanical skills and comfort working with tools
• Some experience with assembly, fabrication, automotive work, industrial work, maintenance, or similar hands-on work
• Willingness to learn wiring, piping, and machine assembly in a niche industrial environment
• Ability to read schematics and assembly drawings
• Basic computer skills, including viewing PDFs, printing reports, and checking information in company-used systems
• Must have a minimum starter set of your own tools and be willing to invest in the proper tools as a technician
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the day
• Valid Driver's License (personal, Class D)
• Dependable, attentive, and able to work as part of a team

Strong Plus

• Experience with sterilizers, washers, steam systems, or industrial equipment
• Experience in equipment assembly, OEM manufacturing, or fabrication
• Experience as an auto mechanic or auto technician
• Familiarity with scientific or laboratory equipment
• Experience with companies such as Steris, Getinge, BetterBuilt, or Lancer

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
