About the Role
Eska USA is seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial production machinery, warehouse equipment, facility systems, and related support equipment.
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, downtime reduction, production support, and machine safety. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, practical troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Equipment and Work Environment
This position supports Eska USA’s converting, production, and material handling equipment, which may include non-CNC cutting and slitting machines, converting equipment, magazine feeding systems with suction cups, adjustable guides and strippers, knife-shaft cutting systems, divided knife sleeves, circular knives, stream delivery belts, automatic palletizers, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, drives, sensors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, compressed air systems, industrial balers, pallet flipping equipment, and related facility systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, alignments, and repairs on production machinery, warehouse equipment, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical equipment issues.
- Support maintenance needs for converting machines, cutting and slitting equipment, feeding systems, knife assemblies, conveyors, palletizers, balers, pallet flipping equipment, and related systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from production and warehouse employees.
- Identify and address equipment issues before they lead to unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot machine performance concerns, including abnormal noise, vibration, feeding issues, cutting issues, stacking issues, material handling problems, or equipment stoppages.
- Repair or replace defective components, including belts, chains, bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, sensors, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings, guards, and related parts.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend or implement corrective actions.
- Assist with installation, alignment, testing, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
- Support major equipment repairs, overhauls, contractor-assisted repairs, and continuous improvement projects.
- Use maintenance systems or records to document inspections, repairs, work orders, parts usage, and follow-up needs.
- Coordinate with production, operations, procurement, engineering, contractors, and maintenance leadership as needed.
- Help identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, maintenance efficiency, spare parts usage, safety, and overall equipment performance.
- Follow all Company safety rules, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, machine guarding requirements, electrical safety practices, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain tools, maintenance areas, parts storage areas, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, trade school, apprenticeship, military maintenance training, or related industrial maintenance education preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent preferred.
- Experience maintaining manufacturing, warehouse, converting, paperboard, packaging, or similar production equipment is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills required.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems required.
- Practical PLC troubleshooting experience required; advanced PLC programming experience preferred.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience with motors, controls, sensors, and related systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, equipment manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance concepts preferred.
- Experience with CMMS or other maintenance record systems preferred.
- Welding, fabrication, machining, or millwright experience preferred.
- Mechanical or electrical certifications preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, communication skills, and reliability.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
This position requires work in a manufacturing, warehouse, production, and maintenance environment. Candidates must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
- Lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, reach, twist, grip, and perform repetitive motions as needed.
- Work in, around, under, or near machinery and equipment for inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, lifting devices, ladders, platforms, and maintenance tools.
- Work around moving machinery, rotating parts, conveyors, forklifts, electrical components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, compressed air, noise, dust, heat, oils, grease, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
- Wear required PPE and follow all posted and communicated safety procedures
Schedule
This vacancy is for a second shift assignment only (2:00 pm - 12:00am, Mon - Thurs). The employee must maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Flexibility may be required for overtime, weekend work, temporary shift adjustments, planned shutdowns, emergency maintenance needs, equipment installation work, and call-in support as needed.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance professional who takes ownership of equipment reliability and understands the importance of supporting production. This person is comfortable troubleshooting in real time, working closely with operators and supervisors, documenting work accurately, and identifying practical improvements that reduce downtime and improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
