Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Night Shift) – Sandston, VA

A growing manufacturer in Sandston, VA is seeking a motivated Maintenance Mechanic with strong electrical knowledge to join our team. This role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable production operations.

Shift Requirement (Please Read Carefully)

• Candidates MUST be able to work any shift as needed.
• This opening is specifically for the NIGHT SHIFT.
• Flexibility is required for training, coverage, and future scheduling needs.

Probationary Period

This position includes a 60–90 day probationary period to evaluate performance, reliability, and overall fit.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Mechanic supports production efficiency and product quality by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform unscheduled repairs during production and complete preventive maintenance tasks.
• Work closely with operations and other departments to assess equipment performance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues quickly and accurately.
• Repair or replace defective mechanical components.
• Repair or replace electrical components including motors, controllers, switches, and related fixtures.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic knowledge, including tools and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical equipment manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to calibrate, test, and repair electronic control systems.
• Dependable, flexible, team‑oriented, and self‑managed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2‑year technical, mechanical, or electrical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in production or industrial maintenance.
• Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic preferred.
