Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician, Level 3 (Hourly), bargaining unit position

Skill Level: Journeyman (8 years of experience or 2 year degree + 5 years)

§ 3 years of industrial automation and controls

Test Requirement: Must complete a Multi-Craft Diagnostic Test.

Topics: Schematics and Print Reading, Power Transmission, Lubrication, Hydraulics & pneumatics, pumps & piping, building maintenance, hand & power tools, fabrication, electrical applications, motors & controls, process control & sensors, test instruments, electronics & instrumentation, and electrical facilities maintenance.

Evaluation Criteria: This test is meant to evaluate a wide range of skill sets among the skilled trades. Each candidate has unique strengths and capabilities. Shift: Night shift position (9 PM to 9AM)

Compensation: $34.84 (hire) /$36.87 (6 months) / $38.91 (18 months) Night shift position will receive a $1.00 shift differential to work nights and will receive a 3% increase in May 2026.

Direct Hire and Reports into the Maintenance Manager

JOB PURPOSE: The Maintenance Technician ensures that the facility and equipment run safely and efficiently by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across electrical and mechanical systems. This includes PLC controls, AC\DC drives, motors, blowers, vacuums, hoppers, extruders, pumps, conveyors, gear boxes, mixing equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The role also includes general building and grounds maintenance. This is a hands-on position with no travel required, offering stability, growth, and the chance to make a direct impact on daily operations.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Background in PLC operation and troubleshooting (*Must have skill set: Siemens Step 7 & TIA)
  • Background in motor drives (both DC and AC) and controls
  • Schematic and logic print reading capabilities
  • Perform work safely, use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.

6. Capable of working overtime on short notice, including call-ins for emergencies

  • Ability to operate, clean, and maintain all equipment required in job function.

TASKS / ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Perform general machine repairs and grounds maintenance. (Must have basic tools.)

2. Troubleshoot, solve problems and work as a team collaboratively.

3. Perform inspections and evaluate risks to safety, quality and productivity.

4. Follow all relevant policies and procedures (5S, Safety, Lock Out – Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc…)

5. Maintain accurate records of work, inspections, and repairs by using the Maintenance Management System.

6. Fabrication and welding (stick, mig, brazing and general torch use).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, logic diagrams and blueprints.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. 2 years technical schooling plus 5 Years relevant Industrial Maintenance experience or 8 years proven Industrial/ Manufacturing Maintenance experience.

2. 3 years of industrial automation and controls experience and able to demonstrate relevant skills

3. Mill and Lathe experience beneficial.

4. Basic electrical experience is beneficial.

5. Use of precision measuring instruments required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to lift 80 lbs.

2. Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach overhead, bend, and kneel.

3. Ability to work a 12-hour shift.
