Industrial Refrigeration & HVAC Service Specialist

Own the uptime of complex cooling and mechanical systems

Step into a typical day where your know-how keeps commercial and industrial environments safe, efficient, and comfortable. Morning begins with a quick review of overnight alarms, then you’re off to the field to triage a rooftop air-conditioning unit using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools (including an ohmmeter). Midday might find you restoring capacity on an ammonia refrigeration line, tightening up boiler performance, or fabricating a small bracket with welding to finish a clean repair. You’ll wrap by documenting service actions, updating logs, and planning tomorrow’s preventive work so systems run smoothly.

What you’ll handle

  • Perform routine inspections and pinpoint issues across refrigeration, HVAC, and mechanical systems using diagrams, manuals, and diagnostic instruments such as ohmmeters.
  • Repair a range of equipment: air conditioners, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing fixtures, and appliance components.
  • Install, modify, and maintain HVAC/R systems in line with design specifications and safety requirements.
  • Apply welding techniques to repair or fabricate mechanical parts when needed.
  • Interpret schematics and HVAC design documents to diagnose faults and implement durable fixes.
  • Maintain meticulous service records, logs, and reports for all inspections, repairs, and system changes.

What you bring

  • Proven background as a service technician focused on HVAC/R or refrigeration equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical system installation or maintenance within construction environments.
  • Comfort with property maintenance tasks tied to mechanical systems care.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing systems, appliance repair, boiler operation, and general equipment repair.
  • Ability to read schematics and work confidently from technical diagrams.
  • Mechanical aptitude; experience with welding, boiler maintenance, or ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
  • Field service experience on HVAC/R units or other mechanical equipment in commercial or industrial settings.

Benefits

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Vision insurance
