Industrial Sewer I is responsible for operating a sewing machine to sew P.V.C. into synthetic material. Materials range in thickness and weight. The material for the Industrial Sewer I role is lighter in weight and smaller in size, but at times may be difficult to maneuver. The materials are made into bellows that are used for protective machine covers.

Read and interpret job cards for information specifications.

Operate and/or utilize equipment to produce products that meet the dimensions required for the accuracy of parts and product quality.
- Sew, troubleshoot, and test product.
- Multitask to perform other duties assigned by the Team Lead or Supervisor.

Work in a safe and courteous manner.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions to sew custom products.

Sew components using a variety of materials, machinery, and hand tools as needed.

Follow established procedures to ensure product quality and adherence to customer specifications.

Conduct visual inspections and quality checks during the sewing process to identify and address any defects or discrepancies.

Report any issues or deviations from specifications per protocol.

Check the layout and stiffeners for size.

Sew stiffeners, add zippers and other items to layout

Sew tie strips where needed.

Count and inspect sewing.

Check size requirements.

Collaborate with Team Lead, Supervisors, and other department management and team members to understand customer requirements and provide feedback on product assembly.

Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.

Support production by performing work in any/all areas within the department to ensure the team meets/exceeds the department’s metrics for SAFETY, QUALITY, DELIVERY, COST, and INVENTORY.
