Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Ashburn, VA, for a Senior Technician specializing in Industrial Water Treatment for data centers. Responsibilities include performing water and wastewater testing, implementing water treatment solutions, and monitoring system performance to ensure compliance with operational standards. The role also entails analyzing data to optimize water treatment processes, preparing reports, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with team members to meet project objectives and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing and analysis of chilled water, condenser water, and closed-loop systems
• Monitor and adjust chemical treatment programs (corrosion inhibitors, biocides, glycol, etc.)
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot dosing equipment, controllers, and filtration systems
• Collect, document, and maintain accurate water treatment logs and reports
• Identify water quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to ensure optimal system performance
• Support startup, shutdown, and maintenance activities for cooling systems
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of experience in industrial or HVAC water treatment (data center experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of closed-loop and open-loop cooling systems
• Familiarity with chemical feed systems, test kits, and monitoring controls
• Ability to read and interpret technical data, SOPs, and system diagrams
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and documentation practices
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in data centers or mission-critical environments
• Knowledge of corrosion control for aluminum and mixed-metal systems
• Certifications such as Certified Water Technologist (CWT) or similar
• Experience with automation and control systems (BMS, PLCs)

Work Environment & Schedule

• On-site at a data center in Ashburn, VA
• May require shift work, weekends, and on-call rotation
• Work involves exposure to mechanical systems and water treatment chemicals
• Use of PPE required at all times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
