Job Description
Title: Infant / ToddlerTeacher
Division: Early Childhood Development
Reports to: Director
Employment status: Full Time


Qualifications:
 High school diploma or GED; prefer Early Childhood Education/Child Development coursework, C D.A. in Early Childhood,
 Supervised experience with Infant / Toddler’s children preferred.
 Knowledge of Early Childhood Development principles.
 Willingness to continue professional education and training, and/or enroll in Child Development Associate training
 Willingness/ability to work as a team member
 Good organizational skill
 History of good job attendance
 Must pass criminal background check.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
To assist in planning, directing, and implementing the curriculum. Maintain records to document compliance with Ohio stste Program rules and Karing Loving Daycare regulations, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 To participate in team development and implementation of weekly lesson plans per curriculum
To perform daily health inspections of each child and document attendance
 To recruit and coordinate volunteers for other classroom activities.
To participate in daily planning and evaluation sessions.

Essential Functions: (Continued)
 To document individual children’s progress.
To assist in ensuring that the center meets Ohio Preschool Program rules, and Karing Loving Daycare requirements..
 To participate in implementing nutrition activities.
To participate in staff training and meetings.
To confer with supervisors regarding progress, concerns and recommendations.
To maintain records and files as required.
To plan and organize own work to meet priorities.
To meet deadlines daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
To maintain confidentiality in district matters.
To continuously update and improve professional competence.
To comply with state and federal regulations that pertains to the position.


OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

Developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) for children.
Discipline methods and classroom management skills.
Teaching methods and observation techniques.
CPR, First Aid, and other emergency procedures.
Principles and practices of working safely
Supervise, monitor, and evaluate classroom.
 Problem solves.
Apply DAP and follow curriculum philosophies.
 Effectively observe and monitor the individual progress of children.
Maintain certifications by attending annual continuing education classes.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Occasional: Exposure to unruly children/adults, blood, chemicals, and bodily fluids moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, and noise working outdoors.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment. CPR/first Aid must be current or obtained within a specified time frame as defined upon employment.

Physical Activities:
Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for moderate activity such as sitting standing walking kneeling crouching/ stooping /squatting

Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Director's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel
