Infant Assistant Teacher

Little Explorers Learning Center Inc is looking for a warm, patient, and joyful Infant Assistant Caregiver to join our team!

At Little Explorers, we believe even our youngest learners are full of curiosity. Our infant program focuses on nurturing care, gentle routines, and early exploration—blending cozy comfort with simple, nature-inspired experiences like fresh air, soft textures, and sensory play.

What You’ll Do

• Provide attentive, loving care for infants (6 weeks–18 months)
• Follow and support individual feeding, diapering, and sleep schedules
• Create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment
• Engage infants in age-appropriate sensory and nature-based activities
• Support early development through interaction, movement, and play
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom

Communicate daily with families about their child’s care and milestones

• Patient, calm, and nurturing personality
• Dependable and team-oriented
• Interest in nature-based or play-based learning
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with infants preferred, but not required

Michigan Requirements & Qualifications To meet State of Michigan child care licensing regulations, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years old (preferred for child care center staff)
• Pass a comprehensive fingerprint background check before unsupervised contact with children
• Complete required health and safety trainings, including: Infant Safe Sleep & Shaken Baby Syndrome
• Child abuse and neglect recognition and reporting
• Infection control and prevention
• Obtain CPR and First Aid
• Be willing to complete ongoing annual training (minimum hours required by the state)
