Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Infant Lead Teacher who is passionate about caring for and educating infants during their most important developmental years.
The Infant Lead Teacher will create a safe, loving, and responsive classroom environment while supporting each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. The ideal candidate understands infant development, values strong communication with families, and is committed to providing high-quality care every day.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for infants
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Develop and implement age-appropriate learning experiences
- Support developmental milestones through purposeful interactions and play
- Follow individualized feeding, sleeping, and care schedules
- Complete daily reports and maintain accurate records
- Build positive relationships with families through regular communication
- Maintain compliance with NC childcare licensing regulations
- Collaborate with administration and fellow teachers
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings
QualificationsRequired
- Associate Degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Education or related field
- EDU 119
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center
- Experience working with infants
- Ability to lift and carry children as needed
- Ability to pass all NC DCDEE background and employment requirements
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Conscious Discipline training or experience
- Knowledge of infant development and milestone tracking
- Experience in a high-quality early childhood program
