Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Infant Teacher to join our educational team. This role involves engaging with infants in a supportive and nurturing environment, facilitating their learning and development after school hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, possess strong classroom management skills, and be committed to fostering a positive and safe space for students to thrive academically and socially.
Duties
- Supervise and engage students in structured and unstructured activities following the school day
- Implement lesson plans that promote childhood development, early childhood education, and behavior management strategies
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful and inclusive environment
- Support students with special education needs or behavioral challenges as needed
- Coordinate with parents, school staff, and other caregivers to ensure consistent communication about student progress
- Organize recreational activities such as sports coaching, theater, or arts & crafts to enhance social skills and creativity
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, babysitting, tutoring, or childcare programs
- Knowledge of childhood development, early childhood education, and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment
- Background in special education or experience working with students with diverse needs is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with children of various ages and backgrounds
- Be able to pass a DCF Level 1 Background Screening
- Complete Required DCF coursework within 60 days
