Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote early childhood development, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
  • Provide attentive infant care by feeding, diapering, soothing, and ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive interactions among infants.
  • Monitor each child's progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians about developmental milestones and daily activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with health and safety standards.
  • Support classroom management by guiding behavior with positive reinforcement techniques and consistent routines.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan activities that enhance learning experiences tailored to individual needs, including those with special education requirements or disabilities.

Skills

  • Proven experience working with infants in daycare, preschool, or nannying settings.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure immediate response to emergencies.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs to support inclusive learning environments.
  • Excellent classroom management skills combined with patience and compassion for caregiving roles.
  • Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively while fostering positive relationships.
  • Familiarity with Grow NJ Kids and childcare regulations, safety procedures, and health standards applicable to infant care environments.
