About Us:

We’re thrilled to announce the opening of Little Roots in September of 2025—a new expansion of the trusted Comfort and Cozy Learning Center, serving Port Angeles families for over 25 years. Comfort and Cozy Childcare will provide licensed, full-day infant childcare in a nurturing environment that supports early learning through play-based curriculum, outdoor exploration, and strong family partnerships. Our new site will welcome children ages 6 weeks - 18 months beginning Fall 2025.

Now Hiring:

Lead Teachers

We are currently seeking Lead Teachers who are passionate about early childhood education and committed to helping young learners build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Qualifications (Per WA State DCYF Requirements for Licensed Childcare):

Must be 18 years of age or older

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must meet Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) requirements for Lead Teachers in licensed preschool programs

Initial ECE Certificate (12 credits) or equivalent education (within 5 years of hire)

Must complete the STARS 30-hour Basic Training within 90 days (if not already certified)

Current certifications required or to be obtained prior to start:

CPR/First Aid Bloodborne Pathogens

Training Food Handler's Card

TB test clearance

DCYF background check

Preferred Experience & Qualities:

Experience working with children in a group setting

Familiarity with emergent curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices

Enthusiastic, patient, and nurturing approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Passion for outdoor play, child-led learning, and supporting all aspects of a child’s development
