Infant Teacher

Active Learning Academy is seeking an infant teacher to work with a class of 8 infants..

We are a teacher focused program and work towards developing educators who are team based and excited about early learning.

Our program follows a progressive approach to early childhood education that allows for children to find their best learning style. We do not believe everyone learns the same and we strive to offer invitations to learn that will interest the children in the ways they can explore best.

We support our teachers in their teaching styles and encourage individuality, confidence, and creativity. We focus heavily on social and emotional growth in our early learning programs as the children navigate solving problems, expressive communication, and friendships.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Playful yet calm
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Communicates well with others including teachers, parents and children
• Can observe the class to ensure safety at all times
• Curriculum planning
• Maintains a tidy classroom
• Collaborates well with others
• Familiar with sanitation guidelines

Required:

• Registered in the Oregon Central Background Registry
• Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
• Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety
• Prevention is Better than Treatment
• Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants
• Food Handler’s Certification
• CPR/First Aid
• Continuing Education

We are looking for a someone who is interested in working with infants and creating strong relationships with the parents and families.
