Infant Teacher - Newton

Newton Child Development Center is looking for a caring and dependable Infant Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will care for babies ages 6 weeks to 14 months in a safe, loving classroom. You will help meet their daily needs and support their early growth and development.

Position Details:

• Location: Newton Child Development Center, 1301 Grove Street, Chattanooga TN 37402
• Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Pay: From $13.00 per hour with a high school diploma and limited experience; from $15.00 per hour with a CDA; increasing with education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive care for infants
• Feed, diaper, and comfort babies throughout the day
• Follow a daily schedule that includes naps, play, and activities
• Talk, read, sing, and play with infants to support development
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and safe
• Track feedings, diaper changes, and daily activities
• Communicate with parents about their child's day

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background check
• Reliable and able to maintain regular attendance
• Comfortable caring for infants in a group setting
• Childcare or infant experience is helpful but not required

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry children up to 30 pounds
• Bend, kneel, and sit on the floor
• Stand and move around the classroom for much of the day
• Safely lift infants in and out of cribs
