PADONIA Learning Center believes that learning begins at birth, and we are looking for dedicated teachers to help nurture the next generation.
Qualifications
- Must meet State requirements for an Infant/Toddler Child Care Teacher position.
- 90-hour Infant/Toddler Certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- At least 6 months documented experience working with children in an approved childcare setting.
- Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds.
- Must be reliable and have reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background check.
- Ability to work overtime if needed.
- Energetic, motivated, organized.
- Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with PADONIA.
Responsibilities
- Work with children, parents, and staff in an atmosphere of empathy and teamwork.
- Represent PADONIA Learning Center in a professional manner.
- To provide a loving and nurturing environment for all children regardless of race, creed, national origin, or other personal factors.
- To provide a comforting atmosphere where a child has an opportunity to learn and grow without fear of retribution.
- To provide every child, each day, opportunities to learn.
- To represent the Center in a professional manner that does not interfere with children, parents or other staff and their ability to perform their duties.
- To work together with children, parents, and staff in an atmosphere of empathy and teamwork.
- To work with other staff members in a manner that conveys the positive attitudes we would like the children to emulate.
General Duties
- Responsible for planning and executing an educational program appropriate for the children assigned to the group.
Daily Duties
- Responsible for greeting each child and parent upon arrival/pick-up into your care.
- Responsible for assisting the children in the classroom prepare for an outdoor activity (i.e. zipping coats, finding extra gloves, reading stories, applying sunscreen etc.).
- Responsible for assisting in all bathroom activities. They will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Washing hands of children.
- Diapering non-potty-trained children.
- Helping to toilet-train children who are ready.
- Cleaning up child/room/floor after an accident in a timely manner.
- Responsible for all mealtime activities. They will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparing/serving am and pm snacks.
- Putting all food products away in a safe, sanitary condition.
- Keeping dishes clean and put away in proper cabinets.
- Refrigerating lunches.
- Serving children and assisting in any way with their mealtime activities.
- Responsible for the general appearance/upkeep of the classroom, for example, sweeping after craft projects, mopping after spills.
- Responsible for monitoring nap time.
- Responsible for administering appropriate disciplinary techniques as needed.
Periodic Duties
- Responsible for attending staff meetings.
- Responsible for reporting concerns to parents or Director in a constructive non-confrontational manner.
- Responsible for assisting other staff by keeping Center supplies organized and maintained in an orderly fashion.
- Responsible for attending and assisting with special programs and events sponsored by the Center.
Environmental Conditions and Physical Expectations:
- Must be able to work in both air-conditioned/heated classrooms as well as outdoor venues that include a variety of weather conditions including hot or cold temperatures.
- Must be able to participate in swimming and wading activities during the summer session only which will require wearing a swimsuit and getting into the pools.
- Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time up to approximately two hours.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time up to approximately two hours.
- Must be able to lift children who weigh 50 lbs. for diapering, emergency medical or evacuation purposes.
- Must be able to work shifts that include arriving/departing in both daylight/nighttime conditions.
- Must be able to engage in physical activities that include walking, jumping, running, throwing, stretching, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
