Infant Toddler Teacher Assistant

Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Infant Toddler Teacher Assistant! In this dynamic role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants and toddlers. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster early learning, social-emotional growth, and positive experiences for young children. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the foundational years of childhood development.

Duties

  • Infant Lead teachers in implementing curriculum activities focused on early childhood education, including literacy, math, and sensory exploration
  • Support children with diverse needs by applying specialized techniques in special education and working with individuals with disabilities or autism
  • Help manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and structured environment
  • Engage children in age-appropriate play, mentoring, and socialization activities that promote cognitive and emotional growth
  • Maintain clear communication with children, parents, and team members to support consistent care and educational goals
  • Assist with classroom organization, including proofreading educational materials and preparing learning resources

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with young children in classroom settings or childcare environments is preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to implement behavior management techniques and support social-emotional learning
  • Experience with literacy education, math activities, and tutoring young learners is advantageous
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or autism enhances your ability to support diverse learners
  • Promote positive, congenial and professional relationships with staff.
  • Depending on current qualifications, enroll in a college degree program in ECE or a related field in order to complete first an Associates degree and then a baccalaureate degree.
  • If without the required degree, within 1 year attain a Level 2 or higher ECE and a Level 2 or higher IT Credential from Gateways to Opportunity or an Infant Toddler CDA.
  • Attend online classes through gateways, workshops and seminars as necessary or required.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
