1. Infection Prevention & Control Program
- Develop, implement, and evaluate hospital-wide infection prevention and control policies.
- Conduct routine infection surveillance and outbreak investigations.
- Implement measures to reduce the risk of HAIs, including hand hygiene protocols and environmental sanitation.
- Monitor compliance with hospital infection control guidelines and regulatory standards (CDC, WHO, OSHA, Joint Commission).
2. Surveillance & Reporting
- Track, analyze, and report hospital infection rates, trends, and outbreaks.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop strategies for infection reduction.
- Maintain records and submit reports to hospital administration and public health authorities as required.
3. Education & Training
- Train hospital staff on infection control practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and sterilization techniques.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new employees on infection prevention measures.
- Provide ongoing education on emerging infectious diseases and new infection control protocols.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Audits
- Ensure the hospital complies with infection control regulations from CDC, WHO, OSHA, and state health departments.
- Participate in infection control audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
- Assist in the development and revision of hospital infection control policies to align with the latest healthcare standards.
5. Collaboration & Risk Management
- Work closely with hospital departments, including nursing, housekeeping, and laboratory teams, to minimize infection risks.
- Collaborate with public health agencies to report communicable diseases and coordinate response plans.
- Serve as a resource for hospital staff regarding infection control concerns and outbreak management.
