Job Summary:
Bear Mountain at Sudbury is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Preventionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with CDC and OSHA guidelines
Conduct surveillance and monitor infection rates to identify trends and areas for improvement
Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices and policies
Conduct routine inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards
Collaborate with other departments to identify and address potential infection control issues
Develop and maintain infection control policies, procedures, and protocols
Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives to reduce infection rates
Requirements:
Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility
Must have, as a minimum, six (6) months training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions
APIC Certification in infection control preferred, but not necessary
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position
Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
