Dr. Coussons Advanced Care for Women is an independent women’s health practice specializing in personalized fertility care and complex gynecology. Dr. Coussons is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery and has served the community for 25 years with an excellent reputation.
This position is ideal for a skilled and compassionate nurse who values meaningful patient relationships, thrives in a collaborative clinical environment, and is comfortable navigating both the clinical and emotional aspects of fertility care. A Registered Nurse (RN) is preferred; however, experienced LPNs, MAs, or CNAs with at least 2 years of gynecology and infertility experience will be considered.
Position Summary
The Fertility & Gynecology Nurse plays a central role in delivering individualized, high-quality care to patients undergoing fertility evaluation and treatment, as well as patients receiving complex gynecologic care. This role combines direct clinical care, patient education, care coordination, procedure support, and compassionate communication in a fast-paced, specialized setting.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with initial fertility assessments, including patient history, prior records and lab result collection
· Provide individualized patient education related to fertility testing, treatment protocols, medication administration, and post-procedure care.
· Triage patient phone calls and electronic messages with clarity, efficiency, and empathy.
· Scheduling of monitoring labs and ultrasounds at the correct cycle times.
· Ordering patient medications and working with pharmacies to ensure accurate medication delivery and teaching.
· Support in-office procedures and provide pre-procedure and recovery care, including conscious sedation preparation and recovery.
· Perform phlebotomy and other clinical support tasks within scope of practice.
· Monitor patient response during treatment cycles, including side effects and follow-up needs.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
· Collaborate closely with the physician to coordinate comprehensive fertility and gynecologic care plans.
· Help maintain efficient clinic flow and ensure an excellent patient experience.
· Participate in weekend clinic coverage and patient message monitoring as needed.
Preferred Clinical Experience
Candidates should have experience in women’s health, reproductive medicine, infertility care, or a closely related specialty. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge or experience in:
· Fertility treatment coordination and cycle management.
· Gynecology and infertility clinic workflows.
· Phlebotomy, IV skills, and aseptic technique.
· Ultrasound monitoring or reproductive imaging support.
· In-office gynecologic or fertility procedures.
· Surgical scheduling, insurance verification, and prior authorization.
Qualifications
· Current and valid nursing license preferred (RN strongly preferred).
· Experienced LPN, MA, or CNA candidates with strong gynecology and infertility backgrounds may also be considered.
· Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in women’s health, gynecology, infertility, or reproductive medicine.
· Strong clinical judgment, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex fertility treatments in a clear, supportive manner.
· Comfort working with emotionally sensitive situations and patients undergoing fertility treatment.
· Ability to work efficiently in a specialized, team-based practice setting.
