AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois Where Experience Matters.

AgeGuide is hiring a mission‑driven Information & Assistance Specialist to support older adults and caregivers across our 8‑county region. This role provides community navigation, benefits access assistance, Medicare counseling support, and referrals through programs including Information & Assistance, SHIP, SMP, and SCSEP.

What You’ll Do

• Provide intake, screening, and information & assistance across phone, email, chat, and in‑person settings.
• Help clients complete Benefit Access and other applications.
• Support Medicare plan evaluation and receive SMP fraud reports.
• Screen and refer individuals for SCSEP employment opportunities.
• Advocate for clients to access state, federal, and local services.
• Enter client data into iCarol, STARS, and SIRS.
• Participate in outreach, education, and required program trainings.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 1 year working with older adults or adults with disabilities.
• SHIP and InformUSA certifications preferred (or obtained within 12 months).
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel within the region; valid Illinois Driver’s License.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office, databases, and virtual platforms.
