This position’s office headquarters location is designated in Sacramento County. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee’s office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.

Working Conditions
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Covered California’s current telework policy. While Covered California supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working in journalism, broadcasting, public relations, communications, marketing or a related field.
- Possess excellent communication and persuasive writing skills, experience in producing, copywriting and copy-editing content for a variety of platforms and channels, including traditional media and consumer-facing content, including news releases, advisories, fact sheets, media events, messaging documents, and video and social media content.
- Experience working with editors, producers and reporters, and crafting responses to media inquiries.
- Knowledge of, and experience working in multicultural markets and media, with a focus on hard-to-reach or hard-to-convince populations; Spanish/Chinese bilingual skills preferred.
- Ability to serve as a spokesperson on behalf of the organization for media and other public-facing interviews and engagements on an as-needed basis.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
