Information System Security Specialist

Description:

The Information System Security Specialist provides cybersecurity engineering and compliance support across Assessment & Authorization (A&A/RMF), system security posture management, and operational risk reduction activities supporting NSWC Crane mission systems. This role assists with security control implementation, artifact development, vulnerability remediation coordination, and maintenance of accreditation-relevant documentation. This position is contingent upon award. Award is expected until the end of the year (2026).

Requirements:


  • Education/experience aligned to the eCRAFT Information System Security Specialist labor category and assigned level.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in cybersecurity, engineering, T&E, or A&A-related fields.
  • Working knowledge of RMF (and/or legacy DIACAP) processes and security policy implementation.
  • Ability to evaluate security solutions for compliance and support ongoing system security posture maintenance.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills for stakeholder coordination and security reporting.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or clearable to that level) required due to support for classified programs and facilities.
  • Hands-on experience supporting RMF/A&A activities for Navy or DoD systems.
  • Familiarity with security tooling and workflows such as eMASS, ACAS, and vulnerability management processes.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, test, and operations teams to integrate security controls into system lifecycles.
  • Strong technical writing skills for SSPs, POA&Ms, test artifacts, and compliance documentation.
