Information Technology Analyst I/II

JOB SUMMARY

Sutter County is currently seeking a Information Technology Analyst I/II to join their team.

This position is on-site only and not remote. All interviews will be conducted in person.

Under direction, an IT Analyst performs a variety of professional level information technology activities which may include end user support, telecommunications, business analysis, database development and support, and enterprise application support; and analyze, design, customize, program, test, install and maintain business applications and information technology systems.

Vacancy may be filled at either level I or level II. Candidates need only to apply once; all applications will be screened for the minimum requirements at the highest level they are qualified for.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill any future opening(s), including Part-Time and Extra Help, in this class for up to six months.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST I

Salary $84,676.80 - $114,545.60

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST II
Salary $89,003.20 - $120,494.40

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Principles and practices of computer systems, procedures, analysis, and design; enterprise applications, and programming languages; computer operating systems, networking and telecommunications software and related hardware; principles and techniques of programming, enterprise applications and systems documentation; troubleshooting methods and techniques to identify and resolve system and/operational problems with computer software; principles and practices of project management; principles and practices of customer service.

Ability to:

Perform professional level work in a variety of information technology systems and applications related to area of assignment; identify and assess alternative problem solving methods/techniques; prepare supporting reports and documentation; assist various information technology users in identifying and defining problems; assist users in application of system use and access to information; prepare a variety of reports and maintain accurate records and files; perform professional work in support of enterprise systems for business applications; analyze data and develop logical solutions to enterprise application issues; effectively manage and implement technology related projects; interpret and implement systems, procedures and policies; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; use good judgment in choosing among available alternatives, in recognizing scope of authority, in seeking assistance and in making referrals; handle confidential material and contacts with discretion; operate office equipment and automated systems used in the performance of assessment activities; work with various cultural and ethnic groups in a tactful and effective manner.

Information Technology Analyst I
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university leading to a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field and one year of increasingly responsible experience in computer applications development and implementation; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Information Technology Analyst II
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely related field, from an accredited college or university and two years of increasingly responsible experience in computer applications development and implementation; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential Duties require the following physical skills and work requirements:
Requires the ability to maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of exercising sound judgment and rational thinking under varied circumstances; the ability to exert a small amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area of the office to another; ability to see; ability to hear and communicate orally; requires sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements, such as using a computer, typing, data entry or use of other office equipment or supplies, and requires prolonged visual concentration.

Disaster Service Workers:
All Sutter County employees are designated as Disaster Service Workers during a proclaimed emergency and may be required to perform certain emergency services at the direction of the department and/or County.

License or Certificate:
This classification may require a valid California driver’s license.
