Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Associate (IT Associate) is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and IT services to the staff of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the organization by ensuring that technology systems function efficiently, securely, and in alignment with the business needs and strategic goals of GO-Biz.

The IT Associate functions as a primary technical resource in diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and enterprise software solutions. This includes providing Tier I and Tier II support, managing service tickets, and escalating issues when necessary. The incumbent will contribute to the design, testing, and deployment of new IT solutions, with a focus on improving efficiency, reliability, and user experience across the organization.

Working Conditions

Hybrid: this position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and requires reporting in-person at headquarters in Sacramento two times a week. #li-hybrid

  • Statement of Qualifications - Interested individuals must submit a SOQ. The SOQ must be in 12 point font, single-spaced and no more than 2 pages in length. The SOQ must address the following in numerical order; do not consolidate responses:

    1. Based on review of the duty statement for this position, describe how your education, knowledge, and experience would qualify you for this position.
    2. Provide a comprehensive, step-by-step onboarding process for a new employee that includes all the necessary IT procedures; the creation of the user's Microsoft 365 account, the assginment of appropriate roles, permissions, and licenses within the Microsoft 365 environment, imaging software used to prepare the new hire laptop, details on how the device is imaged, and the steps involved in deploying the laptop to the employee.
    3. Describe a work assignment that demonstrates your ability to plan work, complete it on schedule, and communicate progress effectively with customers, teammates, and/or management.
