Information Technology Security Administrator

ELS is hiring for the position of IT Security Administrator in Chicago, Illinois.


Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Information Security, the IT Security Administrator will have operational and tactical responsibilities in IT security. You will be administering, monitoring and implementing security controls of endpoints, servers, networks, and cloud-based environments including Microsoft Purview, EntraID and AWS environments. With an aid of robust security solutions, you will be monitoring, addressing and responding to system vulnerabilities, security events. You will play a key role in identifying, isolating and mitigating security incidents.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and administration of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platform.
  • Oversight of the SIEM and vulnerability detection and mitigation solutions.
  • Actively driving the security patch management program.
  • Administration of security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention.
  • Development and maintenance of standard operating and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Assessing and ensuring appropriate access levels to systems and resources.
  • Working with 3rd party security providers (risk-assessments, PEN testing, etc.).


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of security controls to meet desired compliance levels,
  • Perform root-cause analysis for information security related issues and related actions,
  • Assist with the creation, enforcement and training of employees on information security policies.
  • Support internal audits, including risk and compliance of our technical and client-facing teams.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments of internal and external systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Information Security
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant
  • Strong understanding of Windows 11, Windows Server security controls
  • Strong fundamentals of TCP/IP Protocols, IP including routing, DNS and SMTP
  • Experience performing Security Incident Analysis
  • Experience with AD Group Policies, EntraID Multi-Factor Authentication, SSO
  • Highly organized, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Self-starter, highly organized and detailed-oriented
  • Ability to travel domestically as required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • EDR experience such as CrowdStrike and or SIEM such as Rapid 7
  • Experience with EntraID Security, Microsoft 365 (Purview), AWS security solutions
  • Sail Point or related Governance and Identity Solution
  • Experience PowerShell or Python
  • Checkpoint firewalls, Symantec End Point Protection
  • One or more security certificates (Security+, CISSP, CISA)
  • Functions of PCI SSD compliance and regulatory frameworks

Estimated compensation for this position is:


Salary: $65,000 - $77,000


The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. A salary offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to the base pay and our benefits, some positions are eligible for bonuses, sales commissions, or incentive pay.
