Information Technology Systems Student Worker

Position Summary

Be part of a dynamic IT team providing cutting edge IT systems services and support to the UConn Foundation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • IT Systems Support –

  • Support and deploy new client computers and mobile devices using enterprise deployment and management tools.

  • Support Microsoft 365 email, Teams, and SharePoint collaboration platforms.

  • Provide end user IT support via phone, remote support tools, and in person through our ITIL based service desk platform.

  • IT Systems Architecture and Security –

  • Work on projects involving Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform.

  • Work on systems automation and scripting of administrative tasks.

  • Participate in IT security assessments and assist with security incident response.

  • Work on projects to enhance network security using the latest security technology.

Key Competencies

  • Computer literacy with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office

  • Apple macOS and iOS experience is a plus.

  • Ability to troubleshoot computer problems

  • Ability to quickly learn new IT systems

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Professional telephone manner with a clear speaking voice is essential

  • Problem solving skills

  • Minimum of 10 hours per week with the Maximum of 29 hours per week

  • Must be able to work in person at the Foundation building, including during breaks.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning donor related and other information

  • Values diversity and inclusion in the workplace

Education and Experience

  • Enrollment at the University of Connecticut

  • A student in good standing related to grade point average and student code of conduct
