Position Overview

The Infra. CAD Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate, coordinated, and high-quality CAD drawings for infrastructure design and supervision projects, including roads, grading, drainage, utilities, and related civil works. The role supports the engineering team in developing concept, detailed design, tender, construction, and authority submission drawings in line with project requirements, company standards, and applicable UAE authority regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise CAD drawings, layouts, details, sections, and schedules for infrastructure projects in accordance with engineer instructions and approved standards.
• Develop drawings for roads, pavement markings, grading, stormwater drainage, foul sewer, water, irrigation, dry utilities, and related civil infrastructure elements as applicable to each project.
• Ensure drawings are clear, accurate, coordinated, properly dimensioned, and ready for internal review, client submission, and construction use.
• Incorporate redline markups and comments from engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to avoid clashes and maintain consistency across civil, structural, architectural, and MEP interfaces where relevant.
• Assist in the preparation of authority submission drawings and updates in line with applicable UAE authority requirements and project-specific submission standards.
• Maintain drawing registers, file naming, revision history, and document control requirements in accordance with company procedures.
• Support the production of tender and as-built drawing packages as required by the project team.
• Check drawings before issue to ensure compliance with drafting standards, scale requirements, layering conventions, title block information, and drawing references.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting templates, CAD standards, and workflow efficiency within the infrastructure team.

Requirements

• Diploma or technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a CAD Draftsman, preferably within an engineering consultancy environment in the UAE.
• Strong experience in preparing infrastructure drawings for roads, utilities, drainage, and site development works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; working knowledge of Civil 3D will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of infrastructure drafting standards, drawing coordination practices, and construction documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with UAE authority standards and submission requirements will be highly preferred.
• Ability to read engineering sketches, markups, and technical instructions accurately and translate them into coordinated drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work under deadlines across multiple projects.
• Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with engineers and project teams.
• Knowledge of BIM-based coordination workflows will be considered an added advantage where project delivery requires it.
