Role Overview

We are looking for a very senior Infrastructure & DevOps leader to own the end-to-end infrastructure, DevOps, and platform reliability of our high-traffic short-video platform.

This is a mission-critical role: the candidate must have deep hands-on expertise in multi-cloud environments, video streaming infrastructure, CI/CD, Kubernetes, queues, caching, and observability.

The right person will ensure low-latency video delivery, resilient architecture, cost-efficient scaling, and zero downtime for millions of concurrent users across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Cloud & Infrastructure

Design, implement, and manage multi-cloud (AWS/GCP/Tencent) and multi-region infrastructure for high-scale video delivery.

Architect VPCs, networking, load balancers, security groups, and DNS routing for low-latency global delivery.

Plan and execute auto-scaling, capacity planning, and high-traffic event preparedness (PSL, ICC, peak hours).

Manage SQL/NoSQL databases, Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and Kubernetes clusters at scale.

Optimize costs and performance across cloud providers and services.

Video Streaming & CDN

Own and optimize video transcoding pipelines for ABR/HLS/DASH streaming.

Manage CDN providers and global edge caching strategies, ensuring minimal latency for users in Pakistan, MENA, and other regions.

Ensure readiness for ads-in-streaming, content moderation, and analytics pipelines.

DevOps & Reliability

Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, build, deployment, and rollback strategies.

Implement observability and monitoring (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Establish SLOs, SLAs, and operational playbooks for system reliability, fault-tolerance, and disaster recovery.

Conduct post-mortems and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure and deployment workflows.

Leadership & Strategic Impact

Lead a team of infrastructure and SRE engineers, mentoring them on best practices.

Collaborate with Tech Leads, Dev Leads, and Product teams to align infrastructure with product needs.

Make critical architectural decisions that affect platform scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

15+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE, with at least 5 years in high-scale, multi-region platforms.

Deep expertise in AWS, GCP, or Tencent, Kubernetes/EKS/ECS, Docker, and microservices.

Strong knowledge of queues, caching layers (Redis), databases (SQL/NoSQL), and high-scale video delivery.

Hands-on experience with CDN optimization, video streaming pipelines, ABR/HLS/DASH, FFmpeg, and transcoding clusters.

Experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and production incident management.

Excellent leadership, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
