About the Role

F-Technologies is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Lead / Platform Owner to lead the reliability, security, availability, automation, and operational maturity of our enterprise infrastructure. This role was created to raise the operational maturity of our infrastructure team — you will be expected to establish clear ownership, accountability, automation standards, change communication processes, and a proactive engineering culture from day one. You will own infrastructure standards, private cloud governance, virtualization strategy, container platform governance, disaster recovery, production change control, security posture, incident escalation, and technical leadership for the infrastructure team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on infrastructure leader who has done this before in mature environments and knows exactly how to turn a reactive team into a proactive one.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Leadership

- Own infrastructure architecture, standards, governance, and operational maturity.

- Lead infrastructure planning across Linux, Windows, private cloud, application servers, networking, security, containers, and business systems.

- Define and enforce infrastructure operating standards.

- Review major infrastructure and production changes before implementation.

- Lead technical decisions for availability, scalability, monitoring, security, backup, and disaster recovery.

- Ensure manual recurring work is converted into automation backlog items.

Virtualization, Private Cloud & Container Platform Governance

- Define virtualization standards, VM lifecycle policies, template standards, backup standards, and capacity planning models.

- Oversee platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, OpenStack, Nutanix, Azure Stack, or similar.

- Define containerization standards for Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, registries, image scanning, secrets, namespaces, RBAC, and resource limits.

- Lead standardization of VM templates, golden images, base Docker images, and infrastructure build patterns.

- Ensure every VM and containerized workload has an owner, backup plan, monitoring, access model, and documentation.

- Prevent VM sprawl and container sprawl through governance.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

- Design and maintain high-availability infrastructure.

- Own backup validation, restore testing, and disaster recovery planning.

- Define RPO/RTO targets for critical systems.

- Conduct DR simulations and infrastructure resilience reviews.

- Ensure critical systems have documented recovery procedures.

Security & Access Governance

- Oversee infrastructure security controls across Windows, Linux, private cloud, containers, network, application servers, GitHub Enterprise, TFS/Azure DevOps, CRM, ERP, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.

- Review privileged access, admin accounts, SSH/RDP access, VPN access, firewall rules, service accounts, tokens, and certificates.

- Enforce MFA, least privilege, access reviews, audit trails, and secure secrets management.

- Lead patch governance and vulnerability remediation priorities.

Incident & Escalation Management

- Lead major production incidents and coordinate technical response.

- Ensure incident severity, escalation, RCA, and post-incident improvement processes are followed.

- Convert RCA actions into automation, monitoring, security, or process improvements.

- Maintain production runbooks and escalation procedures.

- Participate in the on-call rotation for critical production incidents; ensure the team has a functioning escalation path at all times.

Team Leadership

- Provide technical guidance to systems, application server, and DevOps engineers.

- Assign primary and backup ownership for infrastructure systems.

- Ensure knowledge sharing and reduce single points of failure.

- Support sprint planning, operational backlog prioritization, and infrastructure roadmap planning.

Required Qualifications

- 8+ years in infrastructure, platform engineering, systems engineering, DevOps, private cloud operations, or enterprise IT operations.

- Strong experience leading production infrastructure in mature enterprise environments.

- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.

- Proven experience building or operating private cloud / virtualization platforms.

- Practical experience with Docker and containerized environments.

- Exposure to Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar orchestration platforms.

- Strong understanding of networking, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, load balancing, VPN, firewalls, VLANs, and routing.

- Experience with HA, backup, DR, incident management, and RCA.

- Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, or similar).

- Strong experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, IAM, RBAC, privileged access, and audit logging.

- Ability to create and enforce automation, security, and documentation standards.

- Must be based in Dubai, UAE.

Preferred Qualifications

- GitHub Enterprise, TFS, Azure DevOps Server, or similar developer platforms.

- Terraform, Ansible, Packer, PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar automation tools.

- Supporting CRM, ERP, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, or enterprise business systems.

- ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, UAE PDPL, GDPR, or similar compliance environments.

- Hybrid cloud environments; infrastructure for web and mobile applications.
