Infrastructure Team Leader

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), VMware, Azure, or AWS are highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure concepts.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, including hands-on technical work.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in a team leadership or senior technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with:

-Network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs)

-Server and virtualization platforms

-Cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or similar)

-Backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring tools

-Experience supporting geographically distributed or field-based operations.

-Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and respond to infrastructure incidents.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Experience in non-profit, humanitarian, or mission-driven environments is an advantage.
• High level of accountability, reliability, and commitment to service quality.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations

Lead the operation and maintenance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments.

Ensure high availability, performance, and security of networks, servers, storage, and core IT services.

Monitor infrastructure systems and proactively address performance, capacity, and security issues.

Support business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery operations.

Team Leadership

Supervise, coach, and support infrastructure engineers and technicians.

Assign tasks, review work quality, and ensure adherence to standards and procedures.

Support skills development, knowledge sharing, and team performance improvement.

Security & Compliance

Implement infrastructure security controls including firewalls, access management, and system hardening.

Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and data protection requirements.

Support vulnerability management, patching, and incident response activities.

Projects & Improvements

Lead infrastructure-related projects such as upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

Collaborate with IT Project Managers and other teams on system implementations.

Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate with vendors and service providers for infrastructure services and support.

Assist in evaluating infrastructure solutions and technologies.

Communicate infrastructure status, risks, and improvements to IT management.
