We are a privately owned manufacturer of engineered industrial equipment for diverse industries including pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, chemicals, and oil & gas. Our well established customer base are mostly Fortune 500 Companies. Due to growth and customer demand, we have an immediate opening for an Inside Sales & Customer Support Specialist. This is an opportunity for someone who has technical aptitude and would like to grow into the role of sales engineeer for engineered products.
Responsibilities include:
Sales Support
- Process and enter customer orders into the company operating system.
- Answer phone and email inquiries on order status. Handle requests from customers, distributors and manufacturer’s representatives by coordinating and expediting response.
- Endeavor to learn technical information about products and parts, their application and part numbering schemes so that you gain a continually improving ability to assist customers with answers or direction.
- Provide parts quotations to customers.
- Send out control approval drawings to customers. Maintain an organized follow-up system - checking on status biweekly and logging all contacts with customers regarding approval drawings. Raise issues of customer non-response as instructed.
- Assist in office administration tasks such as filing, data entry, writing reports, email correspondence, and processing paperwork for customer sales orders.
- Attend weekly meetings with the office staff to review current orders and stay on schedule.
- Alert customers when their order ships and provide tracking information via email.
- Conduct customer or prospect outreach or market research activities as directed.
- Develop good relationships with customer contacts via fast and accurate responses to customer requests and friendly and professional communications.
Application & Design Engineering Support
Prepare and send quotations for parts/components and assemblies for standard product lines by using information systems and other resources to obtain information. This will include the transfer of technical data generated from technical reports.
- Prepare costing and pricing for product and/or parts quotations by using information systems and other resources to obtain information.
- Send technical information/documents to customers from engineering in response to customer requests or the result of technical dialogue. This includes managing the approval drawing process (above).
- Bi-annual review, analysis and updating of cost information for quoting. This includes use of vendor price data and use of system data.

Ideal background & skills include:
- High school diploma - college degree preferable
- Interest in and aptitude for mechanical and electrical technical concepts and information
- Ability to read blueprints (or willingness to learn)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to build rapport remotely.
- Proficiency in office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Windows based platforms.
- Ability to handle customer concerns with patience, courtesy, and efficiency.
- Be highly motivated, target-driven mindset with a willingness to learn sales and customer relationship skills.
