Inside Sales Representative
Location: Syracuse, NY Company: Solvents & Petroleum Service, Inc. (SPS) Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
Solvents & Petroleum Service, Inc. (SPS) is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to play a key role in supporting revenue growth and strengthening customer relationships. This position is primarily focused on inside sales, customer engagement, and supporting outside sales representatives, with secondary responsibility for operational and administrative coordination.

Primary Responsibilities: Inside Sales & Sales Support
· Help answer customer calls and sales inquiries
· Generate outbound sales calls to existing customers and targeted prospects
· Prepare, send, and follow up on price quotes and proposals
· Enter and manage customer orders accurately and efficiently
· Support outside sales representatives with:
o leads
o account follow-up
o pricing support
o order processing
· Proactively contact recurring and assigned customers to maintain and grow relationships
· Educate customers on SPS chemical products and environmental service offerings
· Help drive sales activity to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets
Secondary Responsibilities: Operations & Administrative Support
· Coordinate with logistics, plant staff, and freight carriers to support deliveries
· Greet customers and vendors, manage sign-in/sign-out, and operate the electronic gate
· Prepare reports and documents as requested by management
· Provide clerical and administrative support to the General Manager, Comptroller
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
· 2–4 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or account support
· Sales experience in chemical distribution, environmental services, logistics, or industrial markets is a plus
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up abilities
· Comfortable working with order entry systems, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools
· Ability to learn technical products, services, and regulatory documentation
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
