You’ll assist customers in the showroom and over the phone, prepare quotes and material take-offs, coordinate special orders, and ensure projects move forward smoothly from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact customers to generate sales opportunities and support individual sales goals
  • Prepare accurate material take-offs for residential projects, including single- and multi-family homes
  • Analyze and size lumber and building products using appropriate software tools
  • Coordinate special-order products, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines
  • Accurately enter orders, pricing, and customer information into company systems
  • Create invoices, work orders, and sales tickets with a high level of accuracy
  • Represent assigned outside sales representatives when they are out of the office
  • Support builder and contractor accounts in coordination with outside sales
  • Assist with returns, credits, and payment research as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by location management

Showroom & Customer Support

  • Provide consistent, professional service to walk-in and scheduled showroom customers
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroom environment
  • Guide product selections using established processes to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain a personal follow-up system for quotes and active orders
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and showroom upkeep
  • Maintain current product knowledge through training and meetings
  • Participate in trade events and associations as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
  • Prior experience in building materials or construction required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and data entry systems
  • Ability to read and understand basic construction documents and blueprints (preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
