Inside Sales Representative - Houston, Texas

The Inside Sales Representative at Performance Home Medical is a relationship‑driven sales role focused on supporting and growing referral partnerships while ensuring fast, accurate delivery of home respiratory services. This position serves as a primary sales and service contact for prescribing physician offices, helping drive order completion, reduce friction, and improve the overall referral experience.

The Inside Sales Rep works closely with physician office staff, Order Intake, and the Field Sales team to proactively manage respiratory equipment orders—including CPAP/BiPAP, Oxygen, and Ventilators—and to support revenue growth through responsiveness, follow‑through, and strong referral relationships. This role provides foundational sales experience and exposure that may lead to future sales career opportunities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Referral Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with prescribing physician office staff, including clinical and administrative teams
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for referral sources by providing timely updates, proactive follow‑up, and clear communication
  • Support sales growth by ensuring referrals are processed efficiently and physician offices experience minimal friction
  • Collaborate with Field Sales Representatives to strengthen existing accounts and support ongoing sales initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve referral workflows and enhance physician office satisfaction

Order Management & Sales Support

  • Actively manage orders from referral through fulfillment to support both patient care and sales outcomes
  • Review and act on daily reports to drive order completion, including:
    • Pending Orders Report – Proactively resolve delays impacting revenue and patient setup
    • Manual Holds Report – Address documentation, authorization, or compliance issues with urgency
    • Oximetry Report – Coordinate completion of required testing
    • CMN Report – Partner with physician offices to ensure timely medical necessity documentation
    • Vent Stop Report – Monitor and follow up on changes impacting ventilator orders

Tracking & Priority Order Coordination

  • Track complex respiratory orders, including high‑touch equipment and payer‑specific requirements
  • Closely manage hospital discharge orders, supporting rapid setups and strong hospital relationships
  • Ensure time‑sensitive referrals receive priority attention to support both patient care and customer expectations

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a sales‑focused liaison between:
    • Prescribing physician offices
    • Order Intake team
    • Field Sales Representatives
  • Clearly communicate order status, next steps, and resolution plans to all stakeholders
  • Escalate issues appropriately to protect referral relationships and service timelines

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all orders meet payer, regulatory, and company documentation standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in company systems to support billing and sales reporting

Required:

  • 4-year College or University Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, healthcare sales support, referral coordination, or customer‑facing healthcare roles
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency and attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with clinical and administrative professionals

Preferred:

  • Experience in home medical equipment (HME/DME) or respiratory services
  • Knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP, Oxygen, and Ventilator workflows
  • Understanding of insurance authorization and medical documentation processes
