Job Description


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented **Inspector - Civil (Earthworks / Structures)** to join our dynamic team in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and manage the quality and compliance of civil construction activities, ensuring all earthworks and structural works meet approved specifications, drawings, and project requirements. You will work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, and site teams to maintain the highest standards of construction excellence while fostering a transparent and organized work environment.

  • Supervise and inspect all earthworks and structural activities to ensure strict compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements
  • Verify setting out, levels, and alignment before commencement of work and throughout construction phases
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of compaction tests, density tests, and field quality tests, maintaining detailed records of all findings
  • Inspect and approve materials used on site, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards
  • Monitor structural works including concrete placement, curing, reinforcement installation, and formwork removal activities
  • Witness and document critical construction activities such as concrete pours, compaction operations, and structural testing procedures
  • Prepare and maintain detailed daily inspection reports, site records, and documentation in accordance with project requirements
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and site observations for any non-compliant works, tracking resolution and closure
  • Review and close Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) within specified timelines, ensuring all quality checkpoints are satisfied
  • Coordinate with laboratory inspectors, material suppliers, and testing agencies to verify compliance with inspection test plans (ITPs)
  • Monitor contractor productivity and progress against the approved baseline program, providing analytical feedback on performance
  • Ensure all works are executed according to approved safety procedures, environmental standards, and local authority requirements
  • Collaborate with the Resident Engineer, Project Engineer, and consultant team to support overall site supervision and quality control activities
  • Attend site meetings and provide technical feedback on ongoing construction activities and potential challenges
  • Verify as-built drawings and ensure accuracy before submission to project stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Fujairah and UAE local authority standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and environmental compliance at the construction site
  • Protect existing utilities and infrastructure during construction, coordinating with utility teams as needed

Qualifications


**Required Qualifications:**

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in civil construction inspection with a focus on earthworks and structural works
  • Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects, including transportation, heavy civil works, or similar construction programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction specifications, approved drawings, and inspection test plans (ITPs)
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, compaction testing procedures, and concrete quality control methodologies
  • Proficiency in preparing, maintaining, and organizing inspection reports and non-conformance documentation
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English for effective site communication and report preparation
  • Solid knowledge of setting out, leveling, and surveying verification techniques
  • Experience with material inspection, approval processes, and quality assurance procedures
  • Familiarity with local UAE and Fujairah building codes, standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in inspection documentation software and digital record-keeping systems
  • Knowledge of construction safety protocols, procedures, and site safety management practices

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience working on projects in the United Arab Emirates or Middle Eastern region
  • Certification in quality assurance or construction inspection from a recognized professional body
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) or construction management software
  • Knowledge of utility coordination and protection procedures during construction
  • Experience supervising and coordinating inspection teams
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and sustainability practices in construction

Additional Information
  • Experience on major UAE infrastructure, metro projects, such as Dubai Metro (DM), or Etihad Rail projects
  • Background in freight rail or heavy rail construction projects
  • Professional certification in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) or construction inspection
  • Knowledge of UAE building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines including surveyors, laboratories, and material testing agencies
