Exciting news! We're looking for a Installation Technician to join our Field Service Department.
Working Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM Monday - Friday with some weekends.
Summary
Responsible for the installation of environmental test chambers including walk-in, drive-in, and custom equipment at the customer’s facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs custom environmental chambers and their associated components at the customer’s facility.
- Reads and interprets assembly, refrigeration and electrical prints/drawings.
- Brazes/solders refrigeration piping.
- Frequently uses hand, power, and air tools to perform job duties.
- Travels to and from job sites, as assigned by the Manager.
- Arrives at the pre-determined job site on the date and time provided by the Service Manager.
- Requires significant travel to customer sites (approximately 80% travel on average).
- Makes travel arrangements using company approved travel provider/system.
- Travel includes but is not limited to: Driving company provided service vehicle, airline travel, rental car, and potentially international travel.
- Provides daily updates to the manager on the progress of the job.
- Coordinates and supervises on-site activities when contractors are used to help on large installations.
- Completes expense reports for all expenditures.
- Submits Service Reports at the completion of each job; this includes travel hours, labor hours, full details of work performed, if work is completed, and the customer signature.
- Receives pre-approved systems changes from Engineering.
- Returns parts from the field.
- Presents him/herself professionally and acts in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Prepares for the next assignment by researching what must be done to complete the job.
- Assists production as needed upon request.
- Cleans and maintains work area, service van, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Completes ongoing safety training.
- Operates efficiently and effectively with minimal direct supervision.
- Regular physical attendance is required.

Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of two years college or trade school is preferred.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in the environmental test chamber industry, preferred.
- Previous experience brazing/soldering/welding ferrous and non-ferrous materials, preferred.
- Previous experience installing panel boxes preferred.
- Previous Customer Service experience preferred.

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- May also be required to perform lock out tag out on energized jobs and will need to understand lock out tag out procedures.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
